Bride's family

Shannon's parents, Dr. Mike Dong and Mrs. Lucy Hu live in the lovely town of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Both engineers, they enjoy mind-and-hand activities such as fixing the car (even if there is nothing to fix), and writing essays for Chinese magazines. Weekends often find them enjoying the company of friends over card games. They are creative, daring, and excellent cooks. After meals, they like to go on power walks around the neighborhood or at Briarwood mall, where bystanders puzzle over what big sale they must be hurrying off to.

Groom's family

Thomas' parents, Mr. Peter Coffee and Mrs. Carolyn Major reside in the sunny seaside city of Torrance, California, with Thomas' two younger brothers Daniel and Brian. In addition to being avid readers, the Coffees also enjoy playing a variety of musical instruments, going on challenging backpacking trips, and making crisp golden brown waffles on Sunday mornings.
